Trout and Reds near Dunedin

The trout are hitting regularly and the reds are following. This weekend should be good for the Trout off Dunedin causeway. Live shrimp or Gulp swim baits seem to be the favorite.

  1. Trevor,

I saw some of your previous posts re: fishing at DB. Based on the hours you're fishing, you are obviously not launching your yak in the park. Are you launching from State St.? The causeway? Somewhere else?

I'm curious since I enjoy fishing there also (from a yak), but find the park hours rather restrictive. Conversely, I'm not sure I want to leave my vehicle at State St. after hours, not to mention its a long paddle back from the bay.

  2. We actually launch right from the cause way on the south side right after the first bridge. we have launched closer to the last bridge to Honeymoon island as well. If we launch by Honeymoon we fish the ferry bay area. if we launch after the first bridge we go straight across to the island and flats near the ferry channel to Caladesi Island
